Cryptocurrency prices have surged rapidly over the past 24 hours with the world’s most popular cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, leading the pack. The strong rally came after several sessions of consolidation amid high volatility.
Bitcoin crossed at $50,000 at 12:40 pm, up nearly 6 per cent compared to its value 24 hours ago. The popular cryptocurrency’s market capitalisation has also jumped to $943 billion and could hit $1 trillion if the momentum continues.
Ether, too, saw a significant rally as it was trading over 6 per cent higher at $3,757. The virtual coin’s market cap has surged to $441.41 billion, aided by strong trading volumes in the past 24 hours.
The rally in Bitcoin and Ether has pushed up prices of all other cryptocurrencies such as XRP, Cardano, Dogecoin, Stellar, Polkadot, Uniswap, Chainlink and Litecoin.
Commenting on the strong rally, Edul Patel, CEO and Co-founder of Mudrex, a global algorithm based crypto trading platform, said, “It was a fantastic rally across the crypto spectrum. Bitcoin, which was consolidating for sometime, made a move past the $49,500 mark.”

“Ethereum led the rally after it shot past $3800, and remained the highest traded crypto over the past 24 hours. The entire crypto market cap lifted higher and shot past $2.19 trillion,” he added.
