Britain’s Piers Gilliver concluded the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports (IWAS) Wheelchair Fencing World Cup in Chon Buri with a complete gold medal haul after topping the podium in the team events.

Yesterday, Gilliver claimed his third individual title to sweep the solo events.

On the final day of the competition, he partnered with compatriots Dimitri Coutya and Oliver Lam-Watson to win gold in the men’s team sabre.

They defeated French trio Moez El Assine, Ludovic Lemoine and Maxime Valet in the final.

Italy’s Matteo Dei Rossi, Edoardo Giordan, Alberto Morelli and Gianmarco Paolucci took the bronze medal.

Britain’s triumph was followed up with another in the mixed épée team event.

This time Gilliver and Coutya joined forces with Gemma Collis and Justine Moore to overcome Italy’s Alessia Biagini, Sofia Brunati, Emanuele Lambertini and Paolucci.

Bronze went to Chung Yuen Ping, Fan Pui Shan, Lam Ka Man and Yu Chui Yee of Hong Kong.

Georgia won the final gold medal at the IWAS World Cup.

Irma Khetsuriani, Nino Tibilashvili and Gvantsa Zadishvili combined to beat Biagini and her Italian compatriots Ionela Andreea Mogoș and Loredana Trigilia in the women’s team foil.

Hong Kong once again finished third thanks to the efforts of Chung, Fan, Lam and Yu.
